American Kindergarten curriculum
Olive Tree English uses Starfall K3, K4, and K5 curriculum which is a popular American curriculum used in preschools and kindergartens in America. It’s an all-inclusive program that offers a variety of learning styles and activities to engage students in a fun learning environment. We encourage learning through exploration, experimentation, and play with a variety of hands-on activities, projects, songs, games, and books. Children build fluency by learning to read, write, and speak through different themes supported by various literature. At Olive Tree your child will learn to read and write independently. He/she will learn how to verbally communicate thoughts to others in a clear and concise manner. A good foundation will be established for higher education.
Starfall has a website and apps for tablets and smart phones that provide for fun, interactive learning and reinforce and support the material, worksheets, and readers used in class. Students learn how to use technology in the classroom in small groups and independently. By using the apps, students can continue learning English at home and easily share their learning experiences with their parents.
Variety of subjects and events
At Olive Tree we offer a variety of subjects to spark interest and curiosity about learning so students can discover their interests and talents. Subjects we offer in English are Bible, math, science, social studies, physical education, art, music, learning centers, and STEM education. We also have Japanese language and math classes where students can learn reading, writing, conversation, and key vocabulary.
We also take learning outside the classroom by providing a variety of field trips and special events where students can experience different cultures and activities and truly learn though discovery and experience.
Olive Tree teachers are native English teachers from around the world. They work along side Japanese teachers who are bilingual. During the day both English teachers and Japanese teachers speak English to the students except during the 40 min Japanese class where they only speak Japanese. All of our teachers are experienced and have a passion to see the next generation grow and learn.
